We have done the double

Our ladies have gone and not only won the FA Cup (in August) but yesterday they defeated Sunderland and won the league – FA Women’s Super League 1 – the  as well.

Our ladies didn’t just do it, they did it with style and flair.

They thrashed Sunderland 4-0 with goals from Ji So-yun, Fran Kirby and Gemma Davison.

We were on the verge of winning it last year also, only to lose it on goal differences.

This year was different, this year was better.

Our manager Emma Hayes said: “It’s been a long year waiting for this day to come. We vowed that what happened to us last year would never happen again. That’s the motto we’ve lived with throughout the season. And tonight was a champions performance. We lost a couple of games in mid-season but we bounced back to win the FA Cup and since then we’ve gone to another level.”
